Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE 4 could feature the same rear camera as the iPhone 16, as suggested by a fresh report from a Korean supply chain. The fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to come with a 48-megapixel rear camera, along with a 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera, bringing significant upgrades to Apple’s more budget-friendly device. This new camera setup aligns closely with the iPhone 16’s rear camera, which uses a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens that Apple refers to as a “Fusion” lens, capable of handling both standard and 2x zoom photos without losing detail.
The report, shared by ET News, highlights that LG Innotek, based in Korea, will be the primary supplier for the iPhone SE 4’s camera modules. Foxconn and Cowell Electronics are also expected to play a role in providing key camera components. The device, aimed at a price point of around $400 (around Rs 33,950), is speculated to hit the market in the first quarter of next year. Though in India, the device’s price will likely be higher because of customs charges and other things.
Besides the camera, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to adopt a more modern design, featuring a 6.06-inch OLED display similar to the iPhone 14, moving away from the older LCD screens. Rumours also suggest that the new model will replace Touch ID with Face ID, offering a more seamless, all-screen front design.
Other potential upgrades include the adoption of a USB-C port, 8GB of RAM to support Apple’s advanced AI features, and possibly a new multi-functional Action button in place of the traditional mute switch.
One of the most notable aspects of the iPhone SE 4 could be its introduction of an Apple-designed 5G chip, marking a shift away from reliance on Qualcomm for cellular technology. If true, this could offer better integration and performance, as well as potentially lowering costs for Apple in the long term.
Apple’s previous iPhone SE model was launched in March 2022, and reports suggest that the new iPhone SE 4 could debut around March 2025. With these rumoured improvements, Apple seems to be targeting consumers looking for flagship-level features at a more affordable price point.
